We were excited to get straight to a few of the specialty beers they offered and so John started us out with a cucumber ale that was so pleasant and fresh! When they create these infusions the flavors are always natural and simply added to a base ale and allowed time to draw out the flavors. In the instance of the Basil ale, the flavors could be different each time it is made depending on the varietal of basil used. After a tour of the facility and discussion on the brewing process, we admired the whiskey barrels and were amazed to hear that each barrel is only used once in making a barrel aged beer.
Every time I visit Ironfire Brewing Company I leave with a sense of awe and intrigue. These guys like to think outside of the box, and have a very interesting story about where they started to the gem they have now created!
